Polar S210 review
I have only 2 reservations with this watch. Firstly, the battery requires replacement after 18-months. A review of my training diary showed that I had used it for about 225hrs of training in this period (I don't always use my watch when running). The manual suggested that it would last 2 years, 7 days/week for an hour per day (aqpprox 700 hrs of use). Further, pushing the 'stop' button to finish your workout doesn't always seem to deactivate the timer. Sometines several clear/hard pushes are required. Other than that it is easy to use and performs well.

Watch this vendor
Purchased this Polar watch from Heart Monitors USA for my wife. As soon as she saw felt it would be too complicated and sent it back without ever opening the box. When I got my credit from these guys is was $28 short of what I paid. They said this was for the shipping cost and would not be included in the refund. I was out the $28 (plus the 8 bucks I had to shell out to send it back.)So beware of these clowns taking your money if you decide you want to return the product.

The assessors or "critics" commenting on this product need a reality check
Let me start at the beginning. I was fortunate enough to be given this watch as a birthday present. It works the way it is suppose to right out of the box. From my experience, the watch always displays an accurate heart rate. It is a phenomenal device, well worth the money. It is made in Finland (as opposed to China or Taiwan) and I speak from experience when I say that this watch is of quality craftsmanship and superior design. Personally, it meets and often exceeds my needs. I use the device mainly while working out and running. However, it can be used just about anywhere, anytime. For example, I sometimes use it for my autocross track events. After a hot lap and a few close calls, my heart rate changes significantly.
On a different note, I can't help but challenge and reject MOST of the absurd reviews herein. Allow me to remind you of how foolish it is consider, let alone believe in, every assessment of a particular product. At this juncture, I have little choice but to point out the widespread of misinformation and lack of knowledge amongst the reviewers. It astonishes me how very misinformed the general public is and how a simple product review is often taken out of context.
A couple reviewers rated the product at 3 or 4 stars merely because they had to "READ" the users manual before they could operate the device. Are you kidding me? Let me get this straight - Joe Schmo purchases the device. Joe Schmo does not know how to use the device. Joe Schmo resorts to a low ranking of the "otherwise perfect" device.
Seriously though, how pathetic is that?
Moreover, there were those who commented on how awful the Polar customer service is/has been. Why? ...I'm sorry, that is beyond me. If you're asked to rate a product, then for crying out loud do what you are being asked to do - rate the product! Honestly, I can understand their frustration, but what does customer service have to do with the actual product? Nothing! There is not and never was a direct correlation between a product (whether good or bad) and customer support. As an example, Germany's top auto manufacturer, BMW, is well known for producing world's highest quality automobiles. It is also well known that BMW's customer relations (aka customer service) are one of the worst in the world. Is that grounds for a negative feedback of every BMW ever made? That is the kind of illogical and ridiculous interpretation of product reviews found below.
It gets worse. Joe Schmo leaves a low rank because he "wears polarized sunglasses" and "can't see a thing". Yes, that review tops all. I'm speechless.
