Great buy

What a fantastic set! It has everything from a dinner set for two, tea set for two, battery operated appliances and pretend food. Its a great combination of colors, too, with the yellow and green being on the pastel side while the red and blue are primary...looks and feels great.

Haven't tried the battery operated appliances yet - my daughter is 11 months old, so she doesn't get to play with anything that has small or moving parts - that said, it provides more interesting shapes/ colors and hence learning opportunities than blocks which can be pretty dull after a bit.

My kids play with this alot

This was a great supplement to our play kitchen. There are a lot of pieces to this set, of which 3 or 4 are big gadgets like mixers, food processors,blenders, etc. Those items are battery powered. I haven't put battteries in them and they use it in pure pretend play mode. My reasons for liking this product are: good variety of items contained in the set, the pieces are durable (they are plastic, but a hard, smooth plastic that don't have that 'cheap' look and feel), a toy that is getting a lot of play use, and a basic and simple toy in terms of allowing the kids to pretend play without the entertainment of noise and automation. In addition, I still have the option to put the batteries in and enjoy the toy at that level too.
