Okay for the price

Received this as a gift so couldn't really complain but when I looked up the price I figured it was okay except for the following gripes:

1. I followed the instructions and charged the battery for more 4.5 - 6.5 hours before using the product. I am playing movies for less than 1 hour and the battery light starts blinking. I am thinking there is no way the battery has drained already but it was dead already. That is definitely a big negative. Most movies are more than 1 hour in length.

2. It does not resume playback when you power it back on, it makes you start from the beginning all over again? How inconvenient and what a stupid design, thought the Phillips engineers would have been a little more intelligent than that.

3. The big battery sticking out in the back makes it like impossible for the model to lay on a flat surface and makes it awkward to balance in the car.

Difficult to use and defective

I ordered this for Christmas from a Marketplace Seller. It was defective and assumed I would have to deal directly with Philips to get a replacement. After seven weeks, I still do not have a replacement from them; their customer service people keep telling me 10-15 days, and I have no recourse. I also thought the unit was complicated to use and would gladly obtain a refund if I could, or even get the unit. I would not recommend buying this or any other Philips product to anyone. Their customer service is the worst I've ever dealt with. I also had to pay the shipping to return their defective DVD player.

Great, especially for the price!

Great player. Haven't used a ton, but it is for my daughter. It is simple, yet has a great picture, sturdy. Good!
