Very Informative

My husband and I picked this book up at a bookstore five years ago and still use it all the time. It is very informative about the nutritional value of most foods and give great tips about how much to eat of different foods. My in-laws liked it so much that we purchased a copy of them a few years ago and they use it all the time as well.

I highly recommend it.

Perfect For Simplifying & Improving One's Nutrition

I had a bit of a health crisis recently with worrying about passing a diabetes test. I passed it but I decided that I definitely needed to gain more control over the food that I am using daily. I found this book first at the library and liked the information and layout so well that I bought my own copy for reference. Many of these foods I'm using in their natural or raw forms too, at most steaming or lightly sauteeing them. This book's visuals are very palatable for such a use. The color photographs of every food discussed are outstanding as well as the accompanying information. She also uses eye catching charts and boxes for key points. Basically, I don't want to even be tempted to "goop" up these foods with sauces or to combine them into casseroles. Thus, the simple beauty of the book with the straightforward information is perfect. The author, a nutritionist and dietician, is not on the bandwagon for any trendy diet or medical fad either, which is a big plus. Much as I love film, I really don't trust a nutritional book written by a film or tv star!
