On Topic, On Target

The book is clearly subtitled "Nutrition and Weight Loss for Mothers". The second critical diet success factor (exercise) is acknowledged, and then the author moves on the stated topic.

The book adds value by not trying to cover too much territory.

Sundermeyer gives concise, complete and clear information. The chapter on food additives is a very good example of this. At times, the book is concise enough to make you want more detail, but the importance of his points are well made. The terminology is sufficient to allow anyone to conduct further study.

How helpful is it? A friend soon to deliver will get our one copy, a loved one with migraines and epilepsy will get another copy (to help avoid the down side to dieting and to reduce additives), and if I find another copy I ain't sellin' (I sell on Amazon).

The title is misleading

A very disappointing book! The title leads the reader to think that some concrete advice will be given on losing wieight gained during pregnance. Not enough information is given on exercise, which is probably more important than just knowing the nutrirional value of food. This author seems to be showing off her dietary knowledge, but it is painfully obvious that she isn't aware of other aspects of weight loss and muscle toning. Had it not been rated 5 stars, I wouldn't have bought it...was this rated 5 stars by friends of the author? The title should be changed to "Nutririon after Pregnancy"

Exactly what I was looking for.

I had too much extra weight left after my second baby was born and was so relieved to find this book. I found it to be extremely sensible and very enlightening. Every woman needs this information. The book focuses on some special health issues for the postpartum body, but also has a lot of general nutritional information essential to anyone who wants a healthier, lighter body. I was a little concerned because that Dr. Sundermeyer has psychology training, but I found for the most part she manages to keep psychobabble out of it and focus on nutrition. Highly reccomended.
