Nice mp3 player/flash drive

Overall, I am quite pleased with the performance of this device. I had if for about 8 months, and aside from a couple of glitches, it has worked very well. I lost it a couple days ago, but bought another to replace it, which is nice since now they are much cheaper.

The glitches may have more to do with user abuse than inherent problems. That said, this player is extremely rugged. I've dropped it several times, and it even spent about 10 minutes in the washing machine before I remembered I left it in my pocket. I dried it out in a desiccator at 98 degrees for a couple hours and it worked like new.

The two glitches were minor, but worth mentioning. One is that if the battery was totally dead, simply plugging it into the USB port wouldn't charge it. I had to plug it in first, and then turn it on. It would send a signal to the computer that it was there, and then begin charging. It wasn't a big deal, but it took me a while to figure it out. The other problem was that sometimes when using the fast forward function the player would turn itself off. This might have been a side effect of the washing machine incident, but I'm pretty sure it happened before as well.

Some nice features include that it charges very quickly and will run a long time on a single charge. The FM tuner and voice recorder functions are nice to have, but I rarely used them. Half a gig isn't much space, but I never found it to be insufficient since I mostly listen to radio shows and delete them after listening. The flash drive works well too for storing files.

piece of junk

For the first 4 months it worked fine. After that it is no longer recognized by the computer when it's plugged in. When it's first plugged in it says it's connected, but a second later it says it's disconnected. So I can no longer add or delete songs to it. Piece of junk, don't waste your money!

Don't buy it!

This is the 3rd Samsung mp3 player I have owned and its giving me problems!! I don't know exactly what it is, but Samsung mp3 players are sooo problematic! My first one had a battery failure, so it would not charge, my second one didn't even turn on, and now my third one which is the one you are looking at now, decides it dosen't want to be read by the computer anymore. It constantly keeps making that windows sound that its connected and then 2 sec. later it says it has been dis-connected. I really dont know what it is!!!! All i know is that this is the last Samsung Mp3 player that I buy and I hope and pray that I can find a better alternative.
