iAudio U3 2 GB MP3 Player

Fantastic sound and video from such a small player! I've owned a number of MP3 players, but the sound quality of the iAudio U3 blows the rest of them away. Video ain't bad either!! (Yes, you get used to the small screen very quickly.) One recommended improvement: Add a provision for external memory to increase available video time.

a decent value, but there are cheaper and just as good alternatives

This is my second player, my first being a creative zen. Aside from the memory storage and gui id say hands down this one is better. An as far as memory goes once you realize that 2 gb can hold a lot of songs and that the battery will conk out before your tunes will you really cant complain. Another great feature of flash players is the battery life, no hard drive, no moving parts means long battery life. Ive never lost power using this thing. If you use the lcd a lot though you'll probably run into some power problems. Doesn't come with a power cord for an outlet though, just a usb so you always have to hook it up to your computer.
The U3 is also very light, and really should only be worn around the neck. not aware of much in the way of accessories, save a lanyard and a power cord and such. I just got my own lanyard and was off. The loop attachment on the U3 is quite small, so make sure what ever you are going to use to hang this on your neck will fit through it.
Sound is good, especially out of something that feels so light. The mic works well, even the radio which was a problem with the zen a lot of the times. the file system is a bit weak it seems though, creating playlists and such isnt that apparent and I havent figured my way around this. So if the file system and arranging your tracks is important you may think twice about this player.
Also, the button you use for navigating sticks up a bit like a joystick. Which at first made me nervous that it might break off or something, but now i love it because I usually wear the U3 under my coat or hood and the little stick makes it easy to switch tracks or turn the volume up and down when i'm on the go.
All in all a great player,if a bit on the high side, but hey you get what you pay for. Definitely worthy of 3 stars, 4 if you value features and battery life over file systems.

I would suggest this player to anyone who is music lover & dont wanna compromise on quality of sound..I bought it after looking into iPod & other bands......Its very handy comes in my jeans front pocket...only drawback I feel sometime is its memory space which is 2GB & other 4GB model is not handy as this one.....neways U need to refresh ur songs oftenly but its worth for its value..
